![]() ![]() ![]() Hoffman's death would hurt the Gears, make no mistake, but after all they have been through, many have fought without such leadership anyways, so I feel they would adapt to the situation better. I do not believe, as a whole, they would react as well without strong leadership (which, you know, I suppose was part of the point, to ensure they can't be used against their massa ). The Clones are very regimented, very professional. And while I am not sure I would say one is flat out superior then the other, what I will say is I believe the death of Cody would cripple the Clones more then the death of Hoffman. With no plot shields or jedi to guard them. Both aren't likely to survive this battle, tbh. Cody has the superior communication equipment which is sooooo good because, as commanders, they need to be able to keep situational awareness of what is going on, but I feel like Hoffman's sheer experience leading in all types of warfare will negate his loss there by some means. This isn't the medieval ages, this is 'modern' warfare where a sniper would love nothing more then to put a bolt or bullet through their foreheads and bag themselves a commander kill, now, to his credit, Cody actually wears his helmet. Cody has a natural advantage in a superior communications system which is sooooo useful especially since, just like Hoffman, Cody likes to take to the front lines as well which, just like hoffman, is so dang dangerous. bizarre worlds, this would be incredibly useful. If they were fighting on one of the more. He has fought on alien worlds under crazy conditions and that is incredibly important as a commander, butttt doesn't quite come in as handy as this is Naboo's Capital which is beautiful paradise planet. Has fought for years against the CIS in all kinds of different environments, which, I feel is a very nice bonus. He is very intelligent, very good at what he does. Mmm, well, I mean, he is a clone commander, so by default, he is very skilled thanks to his genetic tailoring via being a clone of the Fett-man. the Gears will be left leaderless which is bad, but could be worse as if the Gears have learned anything it is being able to 'do okay' on their own. You can be the greatest general in the multiverse, but you do no one any favors with a hole in the head and the fact there is no 'back-up' leadership here is awful, if Hoffman goes down. One lucky blaster bolt is all that is needed and his hatred of helmets does him no favor especially in an urban environment like this. He is a bloody good soldiers, but there are no plot shields here. This gives him a lot of bonus, his biggest weakness. Now, by different kind of 'wars', I mean he has fought as the overwhelming party, he has scrapped by under siege with no real other options, he has held together a crumbling military force as it was overrun, and finally, been down to nothing using guerrilla warfare to just buy time. ![]() Hoffman has a few things going for him, he has been a squad leader, has been a front-line commander, has been a general and even chief of the defense staff for the government, the other thing he has going for him? In my opinion, is the fact he has fought different kinds of wars against varied opponents: humans, locust and lambent. Also survived to a grand ol' age, (assuming we are not using the version in a wheel chair. Fought for everything he has from the ground up, and because of that, his men, and women, love him which is very important as they aren't indoctrinated clones, they are just, if not overly steroid induced, men and women so morale is very, very important. Has fought in all three of the last wars in the Gears universe. Past threads for thisĬOG - General Victor Hoffman, so. How well does the Trade Federation stand? Also they have their main army there as well, but both teams are not united. The Trade federation has to fight both forces off as well and they are in the middle of it.
